Mongolian Chicken

Mongolian Chicken is your chicken in shining armour

Mongolian Chicken is a crispy Chinese-inspired chicken dish coated in an aromatic sauce which is easy to make with few ingredients.

Ingredients :-

  • 500 gm sliced boneless chicken
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • oil
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic
  • 1 tsp chopped ginger
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • water
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped spring onions (only the green)
  • salt
  • pepper

 

Method :-

  • Place the sliced chicken in a resealable plastic bag and season with salt, pepper and 1/4 cup cornstarch and shake it thoroughly.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan over high flame and cook both sides until golden brown.
  • Drain the chicken on paper napkins.
  • Add ginger and garlic to the pan and cook for a minute. Then add soy sauce, sesame oil, water and brown sugar and saute for a while.
  • Mix 2 tsp cornstarch with water and add to the above mixture and cook until it thickens.
  • Add the chicken slices and spring onions to the pan and toss it evenly before serving your Mongolian Chicken.
