Will let Kung Pao Chicken do the talking
Kung Pao chicken is a popular traditional stir-fried Chinese dish made of stir-fried chicken, peanuts and vegetables in a savory sauce.
Ingredients :-
for the stir fry
- 500 gm boneless chicken cubes
- 1 tbsp corn starch
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- oil
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 5 sliced dried red chillies
- 1/2 cup roasted unsalted peanuts
- 1 diced red bell pepper
- 1 diced yellow bell pepper
- 1 diced capsicum
- pepper
- salt
- 1 tbsp chopped spring onions
for the sauce
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 1 tbsp corn starch
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp sugar
Method :-
- Mix chicken with cornstarch, salt and pepper in a bowl.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over high flame and cook the chicken for a few minutes until both sides are golden brown. Remove the chicken from the pan and keep aside.
- Heat oil in the pan and add the onion, red and yellow bell peppers and capsicum and cook until tender.
- Add garlic and cook for a while. Add chicken, peanuts and chillies and stir thoroughly.
- Whisk all the ingredients required for sauce in a bowl. Add the sauce to the above chicken mixture and bring it to a boil. Cook until the sauce is thickened.
- Garnish with spring onions before serving Kung Pao Chicken.
