Onion Paratha – The Indian way
Ingredients :-
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- oil
- salt
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 2 chopped green chillies
- 1 tsp pepper
- water
Method :-
- Mix onion, pepper and green chillies to make a stuffing.
- Take whole wheat flour, oil, salt and water as required in a bowl and knead it to make a dough.
- Then take a small portion of the dough and flatten it. Add a tbsp of the stuffing inside and sprinkle salt and seal it well.
- Dip it in wheat flour and roll out the paratha.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the onion paratha.
- Serve hot with butter.
If it’s your cheat day, try Cheese Paratha
Ingredients :-
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- oil
- salt
- 1 cup grated cheese
- 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
- 1 tsp pepper
- water
Method :-
- Mix cheese, pepper and coriander leaves to make a stuffing.
- Take whole wheat flour, oil, salt and water as required in a bowl and knead it to make a dough.
- Then take a small portion of the dough and flatten it. Add a tbsp of the stuffing inside and seal it well.
- Dip it in wheat flour and roll out the paratha.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the cheese paratha.
- Serve hot.
Snack with all time favorite Aloo Puri
Ingredients :-
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 3 tbsp sooji/rava (semolina)
- 1 boiled potato2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
- 1/3 tsp red chilli powder
- salt
- 1/4 tsp garam masala powder
- 1/2 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
- 1/4 tsp cumin powder
- oil
Method :-
- Mix whole wheat flour with rava, red chilli powder, carom seeds, cumin powder, salt, garam masala and oil.
- Add grated potato to the above mixture. Add coriander leaves and mix well before making a dough.
- Knead well and add water to make a dough. Leave it aside for a few minutes.
- Take a small portion of the dough and apply oil to roll out the puri.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and deep fry the aloo puris over high flame.
- Drain them in a paper napkin before serving.
Mooli Paratha – The Seasonal Radish comes home
Ingredients :-
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- oil
- salt
- 5 grated radish
- 1 tbsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp pepper
Method :-
- Grate radish and add salt and keep it aside to extract water.
- Squeeze the radish and drain the extra water.
- Mix the radish with whole wheat flour, red chilli powder, pepper, oil, salt in a bowl and knead it to make a dough.
- Take a small portion of the dough and flatten it.
- Dip it in wheat flour and roll out the paratha.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the mooli paratha.
- Serve hot.
P.S. You can also grate the radish and then heat it in a frying pan to soak the water and cool it before making a dough.

Ingredients :-
- 200 gm green peas
- 1 green chilli
- oil
- pinch of hing powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- salt
- 3 cups all-purpose flour (maida)
- water
Method :-
- Grind green peas with green chilli in a blender to form a paste. Add little water if required.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and add hing powder, red chilli powder, salt and the above mixture and cook for a while. Refrigerate overnight to harden the mixture.
- Take all-purpose flour, oil, salt and water as required in a bowl and knead it to make a dough.
- Then take a small portion of the dough and flatten it. Add a tbsp of the stuffing inside and seal it well.
- Flatten and roll out circles of kachoris.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and deep fry the peas kachori.
- Serve hot with chutney/ketchup.
Gobi Paratha – Are you hungry too?
- Take 1 cauliflower (washed in boiling water) and grate it.
- Add 3 chopped green chillies, pepper and make a stuffing.
- Leave it aside.
- Take whole wheat flour, oil, salt and water as required in a bowl and knead it to make a dough.
- Then take a small portion of the dough and flatten it. Add a tbsp of the stuffing inside and sprinkle salt and seal it well.
- Dip it in wheat flour and roll out the paratha.
- Fry the gobi paratha with oil in a frying pan and serve hot with butter and curd.
Upma – The South Indian delicacy might quickly be your go to breakfast
- Heat oil in a frying pan and add half tsp mustard seeds.
- Add 1 chopped onion, 3/4 cup chopped potatoes, 1 cup chopped carrots, 3/4 cup chopped beans and fry them.
- Then add half cup chopped capsicum, curry leaves, salt and cook them for a while.
- Roast 1 cup rava (sooji) in a separate pan till it becomes dry and crisp.
- Add the roasted rava to the pan and mix it with the vegetables. Add water in parts and stir it till it gets finely cooked.
- Serve upma hot with or without ketchup.
Aloo Paratha – The Quintessential Indian Breakfast
- Take 3 boiled potatoes and smash them.
- Add 3 chopped green chillies and make a stuffing.
- Leave it aside.
- Take whole wheat flour, oil, salt and water as required in a bowl and knead it to make a dough.
- Then take a small portion of the dough and flatten it. Add a tbsp of the stuffing inside and seal it well.
- Dip it in wheat flour and roll out the paratha.
- Fry the aloo paratha with oil in a frying pan and serve hot with butter and curd.
Poha With Lotsa Vegetables – The Regular Indian breakfast loved by many
- Heat oil in a frying pan and add half tsp mustard seeds.
- Add 1 chopped onion, 3/4 cup chopped potatoes, 1 cup chopped carrots, 3/4 cup chopped beans and fry them.
- Then add half cup chopped capsicum, curry leaves, salt, half tsp turmeric powder and cook them for a while.
- Add soaked (in water) flattened rice (poha) as required to the pan and mix it with the vegetables.
- Serve poha hot with or without ketchup.
